Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can provide a safe, natural, drug-free and effective way to quit smoking.
ARE YOU STILL TRYING TO QUITE SMOKING?
The effects of smoking on human health are serious and in many cases, deadly. There are more than 7,000 chemicals, including over 60 carcinogens that are known to cause cancer, says the American Cancer Society (ACS).
How does nicotine affect your body?
Most experts agree that quitting smoking is the single most important thing you can do for your health. More than 25 diseases are associated with tobacco use, including cancer of the lungs, bladder, mouth, larynx, pharynx, esophagus, pancreas, kidney, uterus and cervix. Smoking also raises the chances of developing emphysema and increases the risk of having a stroke by 30 percent.
There is plenty of incentive to quit, but it isn’t necessarily easy. The good news is that acupuncture has helped millions of people to kick the smoking habit.
How Acupuncture Can Help?
How to start with acupuncture treatment?
For an acupuncture smoking cessation program to be successful, you will need patience, commitment and preparation. Besides the acupuncture treatments, factors linked with success also include a strong desire to quit, for the patient to always be reminding themselves of the reasons for not smoking, and the support of friends and family. Prior to receiving acupuncture, will evaluate several of your smoking habits and make full diagnosis that will determine a unique method of treatment.
Some of the largest stumbling blocks to becoming smoke-free are the stress, anxiety and depression associated with quitting. Fortunately, acupuncture treatment is quite successful at calming and relaxing the mind, reducing anxiety and alleviating depressive feelings. Specific acupoints in the ear and wrist are used to accomplish this. Additional acupoints may be included that help suppress your appetite, stimulate repair and healing of organ systems, and reduce food and nicotine cravings.
Acupuncture can empower you to take control and begin a healthy and smoke-free life!
Acupuncture is not a panacea or a magic cure in the treatment of any addiction, including smoking. But, acupuncture is effective in making it easier to quit and remain smoke-free for good.
Course of treatment
There are 10 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
smoker receiving acupuncture treatment to kick the habit must get it at least twice a week for three to five weeks without any gap, for the treatment to be fully effective. Monthly treatments are recommended for four to six months after to reinforce your non-smoking status.
"I wanted to quit but I dreaded the anxiety quitting causes. Stress caused me to escalate from three cigarettes a day to smoke an entire pack in one evening. I didn't see any smart reason to substitute one kind of nicotine habit for another -- namely the patch. I talked to Dr. Yang and learned the process could be done quickly and easily. See the professionals who are sincerely interested in your comfort and well-being "
"I am so glad I did this. I say to every smoker out there. If you want to quit, you have to give this a try. It really works! Dr. Yang made no assumptions about our health and body. He was thorough with his questions and took the time to give us answers for our concerns."
"Nicotine controlled my life. Now, I am captain of my own ship. I like being the captain. I am enjoying feeling better than I have since I started chewing 15 years ago. Now, my family is happy. I have my good health back, too. I recommend Dr. Yang to my dentist for any patients that are trying to break away from
any form of tobacco. I am a happier man today!"
